ASTM B265-Titanium and Titanium Alloy Strip, Sheet, and Plate

Standard Specification for Titanium and Titanium Alloy Strip, Sheet, and Plate

Scope:

ASTM B265 covers flat-rolled titanium and titanium alloy products, including:

Strip (thin, coiled material)

Sheet (flat, under 6.35 mm or 0.250")

Plate (flat, 6.35 mm or thicker)

These are intended for:

Aerospace

Medical

Marine

Industrial and chemical processing

Heat exchangers and structural applications

Strip

~0.076–0.76 mm (0.003–0.030”)

Usually ≤ 600 mm

Coiled or cut-to-length

Sheet

~0.76–6.35 mm (0.030–0.25”)

Up to 1220 mm

Custom cut lengths

Plate

> 6.35 mm (0.25”)

Up to 2500 mm

Dimensional Tolerances

Thickness Tolerance:

Depends on thickness and whether product is strip, sheet, or plate (as per ASTM B265 Tables 3–6). Typically tighter tolerances are available for strip and cold-rolled sheet.

Width Tolerance:

±1.6 mm typical, more precise by agreement.

Flatness & Camber:

Controlled especially for aerospace and medical sheet. Flatness may vary depending on product width and thickness.
