Grade 2 titanium is one of the most commonly used commercially pure (CP) titanium grades. It offers a perfect balance of moderate strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good formability and weldability. Compared to Grade 1, it has higher strength but slightly less ductility.
Common Product Forms-Grade 2 Titanium
Raw Material Forms
These are basic forms supplied to fabricators and OEMs:

Applications of Grade 2 Titanium
Since its great strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and formability, GR2 is widely used in:
1.Industrial
Heat exchangers, condensers, pressure vessels
Piping systems for chlorides, acids, seawater
Chemical reactors, evaporators, and tanks
2.Marine
Boat and offshore parts exposed to seawater
Desalination equipment (tubes, plates, flanges)
3.Medical & Pharma
Surgical instruments, implant base components
Autoclave-safe trays and sterilization equipment
4.Power & Energy
Cooling water systems in power plants
Nuclear plant tubing and structural parts (non-critical)
5.Others
Electroplating racks, anode baskets
Architectural use in decorative panels or structures
Standards
ASTM B265 – Titanium Sheets and Plates
ASTM B338 – Titanium Seamless/Welded Tubes
ASTM B348 – Titanium Bars and Rods
ASTM B363 – Titanium Pipe Fittings
ASTM B381 – Titanium Forgings
ASTM B861 / B862 – Welded/Seamless Titanium Pipe

Why Choose Grade 2 Titanium?
Stronger than GR1, still very ductile
Excellent corrosion resistance
Good cold formability
Excellent weldability
Ideal for long-term exposure to corrosive environments
